ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Alan Burns was born and raised in Mississippi, where he still resides with his wife and daughter. After high school, he earned a B.A. with honors in political science from Mississippi State University in 1993, followed by a J.D. with honors from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1999. Alan is a lifelong martial arts enthusiast, researcher, and practitioner. In college he studied Hwa Rang Do, Isshin-ryu, and Shotokan, and trained as a Bujinkan student from 2014 to 2017, achieving a rank of 8th kyu.
